The VIOLINSThe starting point for a superb amplified sound is the violin itself, if you want to sound like a violin then.... start with a violin. All instruments may be set up to your own specifications; individual requirements will be accommodated where possible. Sonic Violins offer three standard grades of instruments to suit all budgets; the Sonic Attack, Sonic Classic and Sonic Heritage. In addition to the standard range Sonic Vintage Violins include restored instruments of European origin that have been collected over the years, and also new instruments purchased from suppliers with various imperfections that have either been restored or are sold at a significantly reduced price. All instruments are available as acoustics for players just looking for a well set up quality violin. The Sonic Heritage Series Violins were introduced in 2008 to meet the needs young conservatoire players and professionals looking for second instruments, with or without an electro acoustic option. Made in the workshop of Violin Society of America (VSA) award winning maker Xueping Hu, these instruments are fine representations of early 18th Century Italian violins.
The Sonic Classic Violins are imported direct from Beijing from a family run workshop. Our partner Youcheng Su, himself a talented classical performer, oversees the specification of these instruments and is able to communicate any special requirements. This has enabled the development of the five string violins. Youcheng is based 10 miles from Sonic Violins and has close family ties to the workshop. The Sonic Classic has proven to be the most popular choice for gigging musicians.
For the more cost conscious, The Sonic Attack Violin is based around high quality handcrafted violins supplied by The Sound Post, a specialist distributor of bowed stringed instruments, based in Wiltshire 50 miles from Sonic Violins. The economies of scale provide for an excellent student grade instrument that is supplied with bow and case at a very attractive price.
